Vote in Andytown's 2023 Cafe Halloween Decoration Contest!
If there’s one thing we like more than decorating, it’s a good-old-fashioned competition. Last year, we saw our cafes really embrace Halloween decorations, and this year, we decided to encourage the tradition by giving our cafes a budget and an incentive—the Andytown cafe with the best Halloween decorations will get a team outing of their choice.
We asked our cafe managers to take some photos of their spookified cafes and share some notes about their decorations. And so, without further ado, here are the cafes entries in the 2023 Andytown Cafe Halloween Decoration Contest. Don’t forget to vote at the bottom of this post for your favorite!
Lawton Street
On Lawton Street, Kat and Michael tapped into their personal Halloween decor (and even borrowed some from a neighbor!) to scare the pants off of every person who walks into our original cafe location.
Andytown Taraval
On Outer Taraval, Brittany, Thomas, and their team embraced the creepy vibe in all parts of their cafe—even the bathroom!
Andytown Roastery Cafe
My name is Xavier and I decorated the kiosk location! I did not really have a theme but incorporated a little bit of everything, I added Día de los Muertos decorations although the holiday is November 1st and 2nd, the bright fun colors and Skeletons felt fitting for spooky month!
I also included some cute little fall decorations like small pumpkins, ghost & pumpkin garlands, and silly signs! It may not be the spookiest decor but gives you the warm feeling of Fall!
181 Fremont
This year's Halloween takeover at 181 Fremont is a spine-tingling masterpiece crafted by our incredibly talented baker, Eunice! Eunice is a true believer that the "spooky season" should be celebrated year-round. Combining her passion for various creative mediums, including sculpting, painting, designing, and the joy of DIY projects, she has conjured up a spellbinding transformation!
The moment you step into our cafe, you'll be captivated by the eerie ambiance. Ravens dangle ominously from the ceiling, and bats seem to have taken up residence in every nook and cranny (seriously, they're everywhere – I'm still discovering new ones!). A spooky spider web weaves itself behind the bar, keeping our baristas company, and, of course, another guards our infamous "fish bowl" kitchen to ensure the safety of our kitchen staff.
As you venture into our dining hall, an enchanting display awaits. Candles cast a haunting glow from above, while window decorations, including eyeballs meticulously painted by Eunice, gaze back at you. The dining hall leads you directly to Eunice's masterpiece, a life-sized paper mache spider child named "Emily Gretchen Star."
We invite you to join us at 181 to experience this spooky magic for yourself and, of course, to meet the enigmatic Emily Gretchen.
Outer Richmond
Over at 800 Great Highway, Isa and his team had fun at Andytown 800 GH with our Ocean Plant friends filling the space with cute spooky nostalgic halloween decorations.
Menlo Park
Down in Menlo Park, B and her team went on a special trip to Arata Pumpkin Patch to decorate their cafe. Cruise down El Camino Real to check out their very scary decor!
IT’S TIME TO VOTE!
Now that you’ve seen and heard from all of our Andytown cafes, it’s time for you to pick your favorite Halloween decorations!
Voting is Closed—— The Winner is LAWTON STREET! Congrats, everyone!
