2024 Cafe Halloween Decoration Contest!

Get ready for a spine-tingling brew-ha-ha this Halloween at Andytown Coffee Roasters!

In the spirit of all things spooky, each of our cafes has been dared to deck out their space in the eeriest, most frightful décor they can conjure up—think haunted house meets coffeehouse. Each Andytown location is going head-to-head (or should we say headless) to see who can brew up the most bone-chilling vibe.

The best part? You get to decide which spot will take home the coven-coveted title of Spookiest Andytown! So, as you sip on your pumpkin-spiced lattes and ghoulishly good cappuccinos, take in the haunting sights and cast your vote for the coffeehouse with the most ghostly ambiance. It’s a latte fun and fright. Check out all of the entries and remember to VOTE for your favorite.

181 Fremont

Andytown 181 Fremont is nestled away in the corner of lush, green Salesforce park. This year we wanted to bring a little darkness to the greenery and enter the land of Jack Skellington. A little spooky, but not too scary, the decorations reflect the vibe of the store, where dark bubbly original birds meet light bubbly conversation. Everyone knows the first 20 minutes of the Nightmare Before Christmas are the best part of the movie, and these decorations pay homage to that highlight, served alongside our signature sourdough and breakfast crunch cookies.

Spooky hunted pumpkin patch theme for A2. Spiders, skeletons, and pumpkins oh my! This year we brought spooky vibes to the beach; come grab a drink and sit in the graveyard in the back patio.….if you dare.

Theme for this cafe was a spider takeover! For my LOTR fans Shelob hangs in anticipation for her next barista victim. And our spooky pumpkins watch over your online orders. Come say hi and pet our smaller spider in the lobby while you wait for drinks….she won’t bite….

Lawton Street

Our theme was a kid friendly Halloween, given our proximity to the elementary school and the amount of parents that come in with their kids, we wanted to highlight our neighborhood and make sure our decorations weren't too spoooooky. Lots of our regulars are teachers at this school, so we asked one teacher for her class participation to decorate pumpkins so we could have our very own pumpkin patch (including a scarecrow obvs so the crow doesn't eat the pumpkins!!!). This added a feeling of community and uniqueness to our decorations and we got to see the creativity from Mrs. Delaney's class! One of my other favorite pieces of decoration are the spooky town cut outs that our very own barista/designer Devin Dean designed and cut for our windows. Overall, we went for cute decorations and tried to show our personalities!

Harrison Street (Gus’s Market)

Moments before their untimely demise, three witches sent out a call and five of us answered. They asked us to immortalize them as dolls and establish a new coven in the form of an Andytown Coffee Roasters. We obliged and thus the Andytown Harrison Coven was born. We Harrison witches are a small but powerful bunch and have preserved many ancient relics from our foremothers: cauldrons, broomsticks, and even one of the old witch’s legs. Our enchanted candles float above us as we brew our potions and serve our treats (and some tricks — beware the poison apple!). Here we celebrate all witches, whether they’re living, dead, or inbetween…

Outer Richmond @ Ocean Plant

Our theme at 800 Great Highway was Dia de los Muertos! Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead is a joyful Mexican celebration held on November 1st and 2nd to honor and remember loved ones who have passed. We decorated with hundreds of marigolds and sugar skulls.
